Selah literally means pause and think. It’s a place that reminds you to be still. But it is also colorful, vibrant, bold and unafraid. It represents a hub for storytelling and an invitation – those who arrive are invited to stay awhile, to come aside and hang out and listen and laugh and reflect. It will engage all your senses – sight, sound, hearing – and maybe one day taste and smell.
It’s a place that reminds you that there is a God and maybe ponder that. What if your life means more than you originally thought? What if healing is possible in this lifetime? What if there is more to life than this?
My name is Selamile (Seh-lah-mee-lay) and I’m so glad you found yourself here. Come in, grab some tea, put on some music and perhaps bring a journal with you. Wherever you are in your journey and however you found this page, I pray that these stories and this poetry would bring hope and healing. I pray that you feel the warmth of them and that God meets you right where you are – in your living room, on a train from work, in the middle of the storm.
I’m originally from Swaziland and have been fascinated with the stories we tell for a long time now and this is my attempt to package and share some of the stories that inspire me, keep me going, conversations I’ve had with people that inspire me, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
